A last minute flurry of activity is expected at electoral offices across Victoria today as nominations close at midday for the local government elections.
Geelong will have11 single-councillor wards at this year’s poll, moving from the current model of four wards with 11 councillors.
The Surf Coast will have three councillors from three wards, for a total of nine councillors.
Golden Plains Shire will have seven candidates, but there are no wards.
Wyndham City will have also have 11 single-councillor wards.
All Victorian councils will go into caretaker mode from midday until 6pm on October 26.
Locals should start receiving postal ballot packs from October 7.
They will need to be returned by October 25.
