Arrests at bus exchange

Our local buses have been the centre of a police operation.

Patrols of Geelong’s CBD including the bus exchange saw several arrests made yesterday afternoon, including on outstanding warrants.

“Geelong uniform members tonight targeted the Moorabool street bus exchange checking people wanted on warrants and ensuring public safety remains at the forefront of policing,” a statement said.

“A 49 year old male from Belmont was wanted on warrants for theft and arrested – he was conveyed to the Geelong Police Station and bailed to the Geelong Magistrates Court.

“A 54 year old male from East Geelong was arrested and processed for threatening people at the bus stop (including police) with the male was charged with using threatening words and disorderly conduct.

“A 41 year old male from Corio was charged with disorderly conduct after threatening motorists and laying down in front of cars in Mercer street.”

Police say they will continue to ramp up actions for public safety in the town.
