The accused killer of Geelong man Paul Grapsas has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, after the father-of-three was found dead near Geelong’s waterfront in September 2023.
20-year-old Bailey Clifford was due to stand trial on a murder charge at the Supreme Court at Geelong on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter.
Grapsas was killed near his Western Beach Road home in the early hours of September 15, when he was reportedly walking his dog late the night before.
His then-pregnant wife found the 40-year-old with fatal head injuries on Malone Street.
Clifford was arrested in Ocean Grove several days later where he was charged with murder and remanded in custody.
He pleaded not guilty to murder early last year before returning to court this week.
Clifford will remain in custody until a plea hearing, set for April 7.
