An AFL player has been charged with rape and several other sexual offences, with the alleged offending taking place in the Geelong region.
The Herald Sun is reporting the player was charged with two counts of sexual assault, one count of rape and one count of sexual assault by compelling sexual touching.
For legal reasons the player cannot be identified and any further details of the alleged offending cannot be made public.

The report from NewsCorp suggests the charges relate to an incident in the Geelong area and the player was charged earlier this month.
The player is set to face court later this year.
