A Wyndham man’s been charged after guns, ammunition and plans were found during a police raid on a home.
Police searched the Hoppers Crossing property yesterday.
“Detectives raided a residence in O’Neill Avenue as part of an investigation into the manufacturing of illicit firearms on 12 December,” a statement from police said.
“Police seized two imitation firearms, an inoperable home-made firearm, a quantity of ammunition, various homemade firearm parts as well as schematics and plans for privately made firearms.
“A 43-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was arrested at the scene and has subsequently been charged with manufacturing firearm without a licence, possess parts to manufacture firearms, possess cartridge ammunition, prohibited person possess firearm and two counts of prohibited person possess imitation firearm.”
He has been bailed to court on April 29.
