Avalon Airport CEO Tony Brun has resigned to take up a new CEO opportunity in Saudi Arabia.
He has announced he will be leaving in late June.
Mr Brun said it was an honour to be part of the Avalon story, and it was one of Australia’s great aviation and infrastructure stories.
It comes as the domestic terminal prepares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Jetstar flight landing at the local airport, which happened in June, 2004.
Linfox Executive Director David Fox said Mr Brun had overseen a repositioning and progression of the business.
“.. including reinforcing the role of Melbourne Avalon Airport being Victoria and Melbourne’s secondary 24/7 international airport,” he said.
“His work around the redevelopment of the organisational strategy and the new Master Plan, to be released soon, will position Avalon as Australia’s premier intermodal economic and employment hub realising our founder, Lindsay Fox’s vision.”
Further details on organisational arrangements at the local facility will be announced in coming weeks.
