Bonza’s been permanently grounded.. with creditors voting to liquidate the struggling airline.
Staff including those who were based at Avalon are owed millions of dollars, after the airline was grounded in April.
Administrators failed to secure a buyer for the budget carrier which had flights from the local airport.
Administrators Hall Chadwick confirmed the decision, after being appointed on April 30.
“At the end of that period the voluntary administrators are required to provide creditors with information and recommendations to assist creditors to decide upon the company’s future, which they ordinarily do at a meeting of creditors held at the end of the convening period,” a statement said.
“At the second meeting of creditors held on 2 July 2024, creditors resolved for the company to be wound up and Richard Albarran, Kathleen Vouris, Brent Kijurina and Cameron Shaw were appointed as liquidators of the company on the same day.”
