Rains ruined Christmas with Geelong’s Carols by the Bay ditched at the last minute due to weather.
Denis Walter was all set to return to hosting duties for tonight’s show that was to be followed by fireworks at Eastern Beach Reserve.
Geelong Council says the carols have been canned due top “safety reasons”.

“While this will be disappointing for many, safety is our first consideration,” a spokesperson said.
Council is yet to say if the event will be rescheduled to a later date, but says the status of other events across the weekend can be viewed on its website here.
