The Surf Coast Council’s new cat restrictions are now in effect across the shire.
The 24-hour restriction means cat owners will need to keep their pets confined to their homes at all times.
Council officers will seize cats found outside their premises and owners will need to claim them within eight days.

Feline owners have had six-months to prepare for the stay-at-home orders with council adopting the measure in March.
The new laws replace the former condition that required cats in urban-zoned areas to be securely confined to the owner’s premises between 8pm and 6am.
