Chase driver remanded

A man who led police through Geelong in an allegedly stolen truck’s been remanded in custody.

The 28-year-old’s facing over 40 charges including theft criminal damage and dangerous driving following the alleged incident on Tuesday morning.

He’ll face court again in September.

It follows a police chase in the region earlier this week, which saw the driver – in a stolen van – damage vehicles, narrowly miss pedestrians and regularly drive on the wrong side of the road.

It resulted in a chase through suburbs including Thompson, St Albans Park, Newcomb and Leopold.
