Torquay’s promised community hospital is yet to be built with no action on the proposed site.

Liberal member for Polwarth Richard Riordan said the Victorian government pledged the hospital in 2018.

“The government’s website only last week talked about the fact that the hospital was supposed to be completed in 2024,” he said.

“In 2024, it is still a paddock with overgrown trees and the signs can’t even be seen from the highway anymore.

“This is a disgrace. It shows the disregard the state government has for the whole Geelong, Surf Coast region.”

Mr Riordan said any reported cuts to health funding could also see services reduced or even closures in the region.
