“The proceeds of the sale would be reinvested into improving public spaces throughout the precinct, improving connectivity to the retail and commercial centre of Ocean Grove,” a statement said.

“Provisions will also ensure no net loss to the current number of car parking spaces in any redevelopment.”

Greater Geelong Mayor Stretch Kontelj says the hope is to improve public spaces in the Ocean Grove area.

“By reinvesting the proceeds of the sale of this land back into Ocean Grove, this is a real opportunity for long-term improvements to this area,” he said.

“Importantly, there will be no net loss in the number of car parks, as these would be recreated in any development.”
