The City of Greater Geelong has warned locals they’ve received reports of potential scam calls, falsely claiming to be from Council.
They’ve advised residents to remain vigilant when contacted by an unknown number claiming to be on behalf of any government agency.
The City conducts quarterly phone surveys, but will never ask for your name, income, or address.

You may, however, be asked your age and gender, to ensure the survey hears from a wide range of people in the community.
Council said calls will always come from a number with the prefix (03) 9977.
Suspected scam calls can be reported to scamwatch.gov.au.
