Crews battle Corio blaze

Crews have been called to a house fire in Corio.

The alarm was raised around 7.30pm Sunday on Harpur Road.

Firefighters manged to contain the flames to one room, quickly bringing the incident under control.

It is understood to be an abandoned house.

Meantime, police are investigating after a car was set on fire on train tracks in North Geelong.

The incident happened just before 6.30am Sunday, resulting in train services being suspended between Lara and Waurn Ponds for several hours.

Services resumed later on Sunday morning.
