Fire crews are patrolling a haystack fire in Freshwater Creek.
Firefighters were called to Dickins Road on Thursday night, finding the blaze in the stack of more than 600 hay bales.
It was brought under control, but locals may be able to see smoke in the nearby area.
A community information message has been issued for the blaze.
Authorities say while haystack fires are not likely to spread to grassland, they can generate a lot of smoke.
Nearby residents are being assured there is no immediate threat.
Meantime, crews were called to a TV fire in Corio during the night.
A passerby raised the alarm after noticing a glow from a loungeroom of a Purnell Road home just before 10pm Thursday.
The blaze was quickly contained to the TV.
Three residents were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
