Former Geelong best and fairest Ray Card has been identified as the man involved in a fatal crash on the Geelong Ring Road on Saturday night.
The 67-year-old who played 110 games for the Cats, has been under police guard in hospital since the crash in Lara on the weekend according to the Herald Sun.
A 57-year-old woman who was a passenger in Card’s car died at the scene, while a 23-year-old Lara man and 19-year-old Lovely Banks woman in the other vehicle were hospitalised.
Card played between 1977 and 1987, and won the Carji Greeves Medal in the 1983 season.
Investigators are also asking for anyone who may have information or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
