The family of a builder arrested in Hoppers Crossing say he has been left in a coma.
They are wanting a thorough investigation into the 35-year-old’s arrest in relation to traffic related matters last week, telling the Age the man has been left in a critical condition in hospital following the incident.
Two police officers, a male constable and male sergeant from the north-west metro region, have been interviewed but no charges have been laid.
However, police say the pair have been suspended while investigations by the Homicide Squad continue.
The Professional Standards Command is also involved, which is the case when someone is seriously injured in police custody.
