Geelong is again preparing for a hot day across the region.
A top temperature of 35 degrees is predicted for the area, before some rain and a cool change kicks in this afternoon.
The CFA has reacted to high heat across the state by issuing a total fire ban for the central region, which includes Geelong.
CFA chief officer Jason Heffernan said we should be prepared now.
“Now is the time to enact your fire plan and remember that leaving early is the safest option,” he said on X.
Meanwhile anyone heading into Melbourne on the train this morning will need to allow extra time than usual.
Extreme heat timetables will be in place across most of the V-LIne network today including on the Geelong line.
That means trains will need to move a little slower and less frequently.
Locals are encouraged to check the V Line website for further details and updates.
