Smoke may remain visible around the Cape Otway area today following yesterday’s bushfires in the region.
The fires have now been downgraded to advice level, with Blanket Bay road now open with traffic management in place.
Yesterday the fire was listed at emergency level, with people in the region urged to leave, before it was ruled it was no longer safe to do so.

People continue to be reminded to monitor the conditions around the fire, though the fire is now under control.
