Geelong and Surf Coast residents are again being asked to dig deep for the 2025 Good Friday Appeal tomorrow.
Geelong locals last year donated $234,097 to the appeal in another record breaking year for the appeal, with $23,368,724 raised across the state and $5,261,913 raised in the regions.
A $3 million investment in regional health services has already been announced as part of this years event.
It will see Barwon Health again be one of six regional health services to receive a share of funds raised.
Chairman of the Good Friday Appeal Penny Fowler said the event was essential for health services for our most vulnerable.
“By providing targeted support, we’re equipping health services with the tools and training they need to deliver world-class pediatric care,” she said.
“We want to thank our regional supporters who are at the heart of the Good Friday Appeal for their incredible fundraising efforts over the years.”
Executive Director Rebecca Cowan added that regional health will be massively impacted.
“Every child, no matter where they live, deserves access to the best healthcare available,” she said.
“This $3 million investment ensures regional health services can provide exceptional care closer to home, making a real difference in the lives of families across Victoria.”
According to the appeals website, Barwon South West’s neonatal services will be strengthened with new equipment and specialised training for healthcare providers.
