The man who fatally stabbed a Geelong dad could be paroled in under four years.
Bailey Clifford pleaded guilty to manslaughter after the fatal stabbing of 40-year-old Paul Graspas, sentenced on Wednesday to eight years and six months jail time.
He has a non-parole period of five years, and could be out from behind bars within four years after serving more than a year in detention.
Clifford was 18 at the time of the stabbing, which took place in September 2023.
Graspas was returning home from a walk with his dog when he found Clifford breaking into his car, stabbed seven times upon confronting him.
He was found hours later by his wife Jessica, who was pregnant with their third child at the time.
She has described the sentencing as “merely a slap on the wrist”.
Manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 25 years imprisonment in Victoria.
