A 34-year-old Geelong man has been arrested after a suspected stabbing.
Emergency services were first called to the Sir Charles Hotham Hotel on Brougham Street at 11.50pm on Wednesday night.
An 82-year-old New Zealand national was located in an upstairs room with critical injuries, passing away a short time later.

Police have arrested the Geelong man in Melbourne’s CBD on Thursday afternoon, set to be interviewed over the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, police asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
