A Geelong West man will face court following yesterdays protests at a military expo event in Melbourne’s CBD.
The 33-year-old has been charged with arson and bailed to face court in November.
Police says 27 officers needed medical treatment following the protests.
Police have hit out at the behaviour of some involved in the protests.
“Victoria Police is appalled at the behaviour of some of the protestors in attendance at the Land Forces protest in Melbourne’s CBD on 11 September,” a statement read.
“Police arrested 42 protestors for various offences, including: assault police, obstruct police, hinder police, assault, arson and blocking roadways.
“Whilst we respect the right for individuals to protest lawfully, we will not tolerate the behaviour of those who break the law.”
