A 16-year-old girl has been arrested after driving a stolen car across Geelong.
It’s alleged two girls assaulted a person before taking off in their Honda Civic in Armstrong Creek.
Stop sticks eventually ended the chase four hours later, with the driver arrested after attempting to flee.
“The stolen Honda was spotted by police driving from Waurn Ponds in the direction of Altona about 12.15am,” police said in a statement.
“Officers on the road kept their distance as Airwing tracked the Honda from Altona to Geelong, and then from Geelong to Fawkner, reaching speeds of up to 160km/hr.
“The Honda continued onto the Ring Road; Altona bound about 2am.
“The stolen vehicle continued on to the Princes Fwy towards Geelong, all the way to the Surf Coast Highway in Armstrong, where police successfully deployed stop sticks.
“The driver got out of the vehicle a short distance away and was promptly arrested by officer about 2.55am.”
Anyone who witnessed the initial incident or the car during the night is urged to contact crime stoppers.
