Libby Coker has helped to open a new facility aimed at helping local women impacted by drug and alcohol addiction.
The House of Hope in Mount Duneed is set to help fifty women.
The Member for Corangamite says a significant amount of community funding contributed to the facility.
“The federal government helped to fund the project,” she said.
“But what is most impressive to us is the amount of money that was raised by the local community.
“The wider Geelong community has helped in raising more than $800,000.”
She added it’s going to make a difference to the women it treats.
“It’s unique,” she said.
“It’s only the second of it’s kind for the state, and the first for a regional area of Victoria.”
