The Lorne Theatre will be screening movies again over Summer.
After concerns the iconic structure would be closing, new operators have taken over.
The theatre will be operating from December, showing a series of new and classic movies.
It will close again after Easter next year for extensive restorations.
The owners have been revealed as brothers Chris, Barrie and Bob Barton.
They grew up in Geelong and spent holidays on the Surf Coast, and remember visiting the Lorne Theatre as kids over summer.
Chris said the community had been excited to see the plans for the iconic building moving forward.
“The role these cinemas can play in communities is a really powerful one,” he said.
“We’re really keen to maintain and enhance our role moving forward.”
The brothers are are co-founders of Sydney’s Golden Age Cinema and Bar, as well as Melbourne’s Rooftop Cinema.
