Two groups of fishers have been caught doing the wrong thing on the Surf Coast.
Fisheries Officers went to Cathedral Rocks last week after receiving several calls to 13FISH.
Victorian Fisheries Authority says the first group of seven people had more than 100 abalone, 24 of those undersized, as well as red shore crabs and up to 15 litres of mixed molluscs.
Another four people in the second group allegedly had 193 red shore crabs, well above the bag limit of 30 per person.
They were also found with 24 abalone, with more than half of those undersized.
Each person is facing fines of more than $2,000 for offences including exceeding bag limits and taking abalone during the closed season.
Anyone who sees or suspects illegal fishing is urged to call 13 34 74.
