It’s back – floating Christmas tree taking shape

Geelong’s much loved floating tree is set to return to the bay for Christmas this year.

The tree is set to take its place in Steampacket Quay within the next few weeks for its tenth installation.

The official lighting of the tree will take place at the end of the month, with Denis Walter Carols by the Bay on November 30.

Sound and light shows will take place every 15 minutes between 8pm and midnight, with each one lasting approximately six minutes.

Family friendly sound and light shows will take place on December 14 and 21, running alongside Christmas Nights at The Carousel.

The shows will run until January 7, giving locals plenty of time to enjoy Geelong’s Christmas magic.
