A local burger joint is closing its doors after five years in Geelong, following the death of its co-owner.
Kermond’s Hamburgers opened on Ryrie Street in 2018.
However Tim Tanner passed away suddenly in October.
Co-owner Brett Healy made the announcement of the closure on social media, saying he could not imagine the local store without Tim.
“The sudden loss of my dear friend and business partner Tim has left an irreplaceable hole in the fabric of our company,” he wrote.
“At this time I can’t imagine a store in Geelong without Tim at the counter.”
Brett thanked the community for their support and kind wishes during a difficult time.
He also urged other local businesses to employ their staff.
The Kermond’s Hamburger stores in Warrnambool and Port Fairy will remain open.
