A local man has been arrested, after allegedly using a brick to assault a man at a bus stop in Melbourne’s east last weekend.
Police say the 34-year-old Geelong West man struck the 76-year-old with the brick while he was waiting for a bus in Burwood around 1.45pm on Saturday.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the alleged offender fled the scene.
The Geelong West man has since been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, common law assault and assault with a weapon.
He has been remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Officers say the pair aren’t known to each other.
