Local house prices fall

New data shows house prices in Geelong have fallen slightly.

Figures by CoreLogic show prices dropped by 0.1 per cent during the last month, and by more than three per cent for the year.

CoreLogic says the city, along with Latrobe-Gippsland and Ballarat, have led annual falls in regional Victoria.

It says the regions have recorded double digital value falls since the peak in mid 2022.

However, the median price for a home in Geelong is still above $720,000.

It comes as data reveals Australia has hit a record high median price of $800,000.
