Local medical centre the victim of phishing attack

A local medical centre has been the target of a phishing attack.

Bellarine Medical Group in Drysdale has taken to social media, asking patients not to open certain emails from them, warning they had been hacked.

But it assured locals their patient data remained secure.

“Please note this is an issue with our emails only and not our clinical software or patient information,” the clinic wrote on Facebook.

It provided an update on Monday confirming the email issue was minor and only effected the email account.

However its IT team jumped on the issue and says the email account remains secure.
