It is understood the mother was inside the home at the time and tried to help the children before emergency services arrived.

The blaze is not being treated as suspicious, but detective are investigating the cause.

Inspector Emma Bartel said it was heartbreaking for the local community.

“We believe that there were some neighbours that came to help and support as well,” Inspector Bartel said.
