Locals rally over war in Gaza

Hundreds have rallied in Geelong’s CBD calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

Healthcare workers, unions and the wider community took part in the Free Palestine rally on Saturday afternoon, blocking traffic on Malop and Moorabool Street’s.

There’s been several protests in Geelong since the latest conflict between Israel and Gaza started on October 7 last year, and have included marches on the electorate office of deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles.

Free Palestine Geelong’s next action includes a kite-building workshop on Saturday, ahead of a picnic and ‘fly a kite for Palestine’ event the next day at Rippleside Park.
