Over four-thousand people are expected to take part in the Run4Geelong on Sunday, raising money for the Barwon Health Foundation.
It’s set to be the biggest turnout to the event for several years.
Executive Director Zoe Waters says the event has been getting more popular every year.
“We’re on track for the biggest and best since 2018,” she said.
“We’re currently looking at more 4000 participants taking part in the run.”
She added it’s a major fundraiser for the local health service.
“What’s important about that is that 100 per cent of our registrations go to the area of Barwon Health that people are most passionate about,” she said.
“So this year we are seeing it spread across a lot of areas, because people are so grateful for the care that they or a loved one have received from the service.
“It’s fantastic to see that kind of response from the community.”
The race is taking place on Sunday morning, with registration remaining open until the day of the race.
