Owners of a beloved Portarlington Pizza Shop say a difficult time lies ahead after a fire completely destroyed the venue on Wednesday morning.
Several units responded with the fire taking a bit over two hours to bring under control, fortunately no one was injured.
Management taking to social media late Wednesday saying they will be back, but it’s too difficult to say when.
“It is with a sad and heavy heart that I announce that fire has totally destroyed Pier Front Pizzeria in the early morning (Wednesday),” a statement on Facebook read.
“Thanks to all the emergency services, staff, customers and friends who have offered comfort and support.
“Unfortunately all our bookings and prior arrangements are cancelled as we work through the process and plan for moving forward.
“We will post any updates through our social media and encourage you to continue to support our town in any which way.
“Pier Front will be back, but it’s too hard to say when at this stage.
“Thank you again for all your messages, texts, calls and encouragement as we all navigate through this unknown.”
