A man has drowned in Queenscliff in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 62-year-old Caroline Springs man was found unresponsive close to the Queenscliff pier around 4.20am.
“It is understood he had been fishing in the area during the early hours of the morning,” a police spokesperson said.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined but the matter is not believed to be suspicious.”
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
