More money poured into pokies

There has been an increase in poker machine losses across Geelong.

Figures show $11.2 million was lost on pokiers across the region during May, compared to $10.9 million the month before.

While June data is not out yet, the city’s punters have already lost just over $125 million in the 2023/24 financial year.

There has also been an increase in losses in Wyndham.

More than $10.6 million was poured into the machines during May, which was up from $10.24 in April.
