Pair arrested over attempted copper theft

Two men have been arrested over an alleged attempted copper theft at North Shore.

Police were called to reports of two men seen loitering at a St Georges Road business just before 9.30pm Thursday.

The pair were found hiding inside the yard after officers held patrols in the area.

They were allegedly found with tools used to copper theft and other fittings.

A 41-year-old Armstrong Creek man has been charged with offences including attempted theft and bailed to face a Geelong court in November.

The second man, a 48-year-old from Bell Post Hill was released pending further enquiries.
