The founder of surf company Quiksilver Alan Green has died in Torquay at 77.
Green founded the company in Torquay back in 1969 after previously working with the team at Rip Curl.
Among his achievements, Green is credited with revolutionsing the design of boardshorts.
Green passing away after a battle with cancer.
Surfing Hall of Fame member Rod Brooks said he was a legend in a statement earlier this week.
“The word ‘legend’ gets thrown around a lot in the surfing scene, but yesterday (Tuesday) a true legend passed away.”
“It was a life well lived and one that will be remembered, along with the legend of the Quiksilver brand and the thousands of jobs he created both here and around the world over his incredible journey.”
