The recent pattern of wind has hit the region again.
Gusts of wind up to 61 km/ph were recorded yesterday around midday at the Geelong Racecourse, with consistent gusts in the 50s across much of the afternoon.

But the biggest gusts for the region were saved for Avalon, who as well as having consistent gusts in the 50s and 60s, gusts were also recorded into the 80s.
Despite the wild weather, the region has largely avoided rain, which has been an issue statewide.
Some parts of the state have recorded more than 20 mills of rain below average falling in the region.
