Region’s restaurants hatted

The co-owner of Lorne’s Little Picket has been crowned chef of the year at the Good Food Guide Awards.

Jo Barrett’s modest but magical venue in the Lorne Bowls Club also picked up a hat in the 2024 guide, it’s first entry into the prestigious eatery bible.

The newly opened Totti’s at the Lorne pub also made its way on to the list, joining fellow local mainstay Ipsos.

Geelong’s La Cachette maintained its place on the list too.

Donning two hats is Moonah at Connewarre, and Igni in Geelong.

In rarified air Brae is one of only three restaurants in the state to be awarded three hats, confirming the Birregurra restaurant continues to be a highly sought after regional food destination.
