SES warns us to be prepared

The SES is again urging us to clean up around our yards, with strong winds expected later this week.

Crews have spent the last few days cleaning up across Geelong following Monday morning winds.

Operations manager Andrew Merton says it’s about walking around the property again.

“You should be making sure you are securing loose items around the home,” he said.

“Things like trampolines and garden furniture, it’s best to pick those things up.

“But we also recommend you have a look around the house, look at your trees and see if there are any loose branches that may have broken off and could cause damage.”

The SES saying there are small things you can do to make sure you are safe if the winds get intense again later this week.

Merton says anyone who needs help with any building damage or downed trees should call them.
