Speeder tells Police he was ‘having a bad day’

wez impound wyndham eyewatchA Norlane man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught driving at excessive speed along the Princes Freeway at Werribee on Friday night.

Police say Highway Patrol members clocked the 27-year-old driving at 154km/h in the 100-zone at around 9.15 pm.

The man reportedly told police he was speeding after “a bad day at work”.

“His ‘bad day’ certainly got a lot worse when he watched his vehicle being loaded on the back of a tow truck,” a Police spokesperson said.

“It was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $995 due to driving at an excessive speed.

“He will appear at the Werribee Magistrates Court later in the year to face his excessive speed charge.

“Speed is a major contributor to road trauma and our road toll, please slow down and arrive alive.”
