Spirit of Tasmania four is headed to Scotland.
The ship – which was due to head to Tasmania for it’s crossings between Devonport and Geelong in coming months – will be moved from Finland where it is being built due to ice pack concerns.
“To ensure the vessel’s safety and preservation, we will temporarily relocate it to Leith, Scotland, where conditions are more suitable,” Spirit of Tasmania chief executive Bernard Dwyer said.
It’s the latest in a series of PR issues for the ships.
Last week it was announced the ships – which were due for delivery in coming months – will not be in operation until late 2026 at the earliest due to delays in the construction of a new berth in Tasmania.
