Teachers at The Gordon are set to be involved in further industrial action.
Following a statewide stopwork this week, TAFE teachers have voted to further action – including more stopwork action.
It’s part of an ongoing dispute with the state government over pay and conditions.
AEU Victorian Branch President Meredith Peace says not enough has been done by the state to fix the issue.
“Victoria’s TAFE teachers are among the lowest paid in Australia, and receive almost $8000 less than similarly experienced school teachers per annum,” she said.
“This is unacceptable, particularly as Victoria deals with ongoing skills shortages, including a shortage of TAFE teachers. The situation requires urgent intervention from the state government.”
