Seven teenagers who led police on a chase across Wyndham and Melbourne’s west have been charged.
The allegedly stolen Skoda SUV was seen speeding in Wyndham Vale late Tuesday night, with officers following the vehicle through suburbs including Werribee and Tarneit.
The occupants dumped the Skoda in Point Cook and got into a white Volvo, allegedly stolen from Tarneit.
Police say the vehicle sped along the Princes Freeway towards Little River before returning to the Werribee area, where it hit a tree in Truganina.
The seven occupants were arrested.
A 16-year-old Wyndham boy has been charged with 12 offences including car theft, reckless conduct and dangerous driving.
He was remanded to face a children’s court down the track.
Five boys, aged between 15 and 17, also from the Wyndham area were charged with car theft, while a 16-year-old Wyndham boy was charged with car theft and possessing cannabis.
The six have been bailed to face a children’s court at a later date.
