The Geelong Resource Recovery Centre and Transfer Station has been closed indefinitely.
Council announced on Wednesday that a building report has indicated structural issues at the site, making the decision to close it due to safety concerns.
Investigations at the Duoro Street site are underway, with residents encouraged to use facilities in Drysdale and Wyndham in the meantime.

Council has called communication with impacted staff and contractors a top priority and said they won’t compromise on safety.
