Upgrades for coastal road

Works have been announced to improve a busy inland road.

A new retaining wall, pavement and barriers will be part of the work on Forrest-Apollo Bay Road, as part of a state program to improve the Great Ocean Road and inland routes.

The Victorian government says the roads are vital for tourism, freight and local communities.

It says the works along Forrest-Apollo Bay Road are needed for the safety of road users and the longevity of the landscape.

The works should take around five months to complete, but will be stopped during the busy summer holiday period, before starting again early next year.
