While services are due to be underway from 8am, Geelong commuters are being warned of delays and service cancellations.

Fans heading to the Taylor Swift concert at the MCG tonight are being urged to consider alternative transport to get to the gig.

V/Line CEO Matt Carrick said they would be working to recover the timetable.

“While there’ll be some flow-on impacts, trains will be resuming after 8am,” he said.

“We’ll be restoring those services throughout the day, so fans can get to the Taylor Swift concert.”

Members of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union are planning more action on Monday morning and again next Friday.

Mr Carrick could not confirm whether he expected future industrial action beyond next week.
